To God’s Most Beautiful Daughters
A new way of life was presented by an unknown Galilean two thousand years ago – the true Good Shepherd of your soul.
I’m very thankful God’s Word helps me see things I need to pay attention to. As a follower of Jesus we are followers of wisdom. Wisdom seeks God’s vantage point with His perspective. Fixing our gaze directly before us and looking straight ahead helps us to focus on wisdom and not get deceived by our blindness and assumptions. I get distracted from wisdom and attracted to foolishness when I don’t seek to understand what God and other people really yearn for.
I see the wisdom in taking the time to read, hear and listen to the greatest Book ever written.
If by happiness we mean serenity, confidence, contentment, peace, joy and soul satisfaction, then Jesus was supremely happy. He didn’t have to have an outside stimulus… He had learned a secret that allowed Him to live above the circumstances of life and fear of the future… He gave it to us in the Beatitudes – the one way that real and enduring happiness can be found. It is impossible not to listen to this Man, Jesus.
When we talk about finding someone who speaks our language, we are really repeating the same longing that the Psalmist expressed when He said,
“I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man who would know me; refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.” Psalm 142:4
I am convinced that there is a great hunger of mind and thirst of soul on the part of man for peace with God.
Verve ’18 is literally being prepared on our knees. We feel the continual Presence of God.
When Christ takes the rightful place in your heart, all sense of separation from God disappears. Once more you stand in the Presence of God. This fellowship, this intimacy is a joy unspeakable and full of glory. No man-made philosophy can bestow this glorious benefit. Whatever the circumstances, whatever the call, whatever the duty, whatever the price, whatever the sacrifice – His strength will be your strength in your hour of need.
Verve ’18 offers profound reflections. In these reflections we ponder anew what it means to be fully and genuinely human.
Let us come and allow God to release insight and hope and clarity to work out His purposes in a world that has no language for God and the purposes of God. Allow Him to engrave and re-cast His image, nature and character upon our precious life.
“I’ll run the course You lay out for me if You’ll just show me how.” Psalm 119:32
Re-centre. Re-imagine. Re-think. Trust your life to it.
Be blessed. Much love. Tish.
